Studies at Turku University of Applied Sciences (TUAS) are working life-oriented, combining theoretical studies with professional skills. At the core of our teaching is ‘Innovation Pedagogy’ (Innopeda®), a novel approach to learning developed at TUAS.
Innopeda is a learning method based on experimenting, sharing and combining different approaches, successfully linking teaching, RDI, internationality, and co-operation with working life. Innopeda emphasises the viewpoints of RDI and working life, making our graduates independently minded professionals with excellent international and communication skills.

Co-operation in health and technology
Health Campus Turku is a significant multidisciplinary education cluster within medicine and healthcare. Consisting of four higher education institutions and a university hospital, Health Campus offers an inspiring operating environment for studies, research, innovation and corporate collaboration.
The co-operation involves:
- Turku University of Applied Sciences,
- The Hospital District of Southwest Finland,
- The University of Turku,
- Åbo Akademi University, and
- Novia University of Applied Sciences.
All these institutions promote shared RDI, education, innovation and business activities with the objective of developing interdisciplinary expertise in line with the targets of the health and social services reform.
Turku Future Technologies strengthens technological co-operation
TUAS also contributes to the Turku Future Technologies (TFT) co-operation with the aim of strengthening both the technological expertise and prestige of Finland’s oldest city by enabling our students to complete practical training and thesis work in collaboration with regional businesses, as well as with officials in the City of Turku and the City of Rauma.
